🎸 Bill Marcks is one of the original founding members and former guitarist of the punk rock band Authority Zero, which originated in Mesa, Arizona back in 1994. He helped shape the band's early sound—a fusion of punk, ska, reggae, and skate rock—and was part of their rise to prominence, including their signing with Lava/Atlantic Records in 2002.
After leaving Authority Zero in 2008 to focus on family life, Bill didn’t step away from music entirely. He went on to host an internet radio show called Ska Punk Passport with Gringo Bill, showcasing global punk and ska acts from all over the world. He’s also involved in a newer instrumental project called Cero Viejo, alongside fellow Authority Zero alum Jeremy Wood and drummer Sho Wie.
If you want a deeper dive into his journey, you can check out his personal site or his Reddit AMA, where he shares stories from touring, recording, and life after the band.
